Graham oversees Mainstay’s photographic and video content. He gained an extensive knowledge of editorial photography and video during his 13 years as staff photojournalist at Yachting Monthly, Motorboat & Yachting and Motor Boats Monthly.
His work also includes photo and video shoots for leading boatbuilders such as Najad, Princess, Rustler and Sunseeker. He has introduced new concepts to companies like Sirius Yachts, leading to an increase in sales.
Graham is also a writer with a wealth of technical knowledge and writes regularly for Yachting Monthly, Yachting World and SAIL magazines.
Simon is in charge of project management, design (web and print) and marketing. He has more than 25 years’ experience as a graphic designer and creative director, initially in print and more recently online.
He has worked on a wide variety of projects, from designing training materials for the nuclear industry to managing a portfolio of national magazines.
Unusually for a designer, Simon has also moved into journalism and held deputy editor and managing editor roles.
The diverse range of media brands that Simon has worked on include Yachting Monthly, Shooting Times, Practical Coarse Fishing, LivingEtc, The English Garden and Photography Monthly.
A bilingual journalist, author, copywriter, editor, publisher and PR consultant, Detlef has worked in France and the UK as well as Germany over the past 35 years, specialising in boats and sailing.
In Germany he has launched a literary festival, created the magazines Segel Journal, Goose and Waves, and edited various others. In Britain, he has worked in advertising and as part of the Reed’s Almanac editorial team. In France, he worked as an international PR specialist.
His work has appeared in publications ranging from Yachting World, Sailing Today and Cruising World to Yacht, segeln, Hamburger Abendblatt and the Sunday paper Welt am Sonntag. He is also an author of nautical books and fiction.
